Housing Australia is at the forefront of tackling one of the nation's most critical challenges-access to social and affordable housing. With an expanded mandate and unprecedented investment through programs such as the Housing Australia Future Fund (HAFF), we are entering a new era of scale, impact, and delivery.
To support this transformation, we are establishing a Project Delivery Unit (PDU)-a central capability designed to strengthen oversight, risk management, and performance across a growing national portfolio of housing projects.
We are seeking an exceptional leader to join us as Director - Project Delivery, a pivotal role responsible for driving visibility, accountability, and delivery excellence across Australia's most important housing initiatives.
The Opportunity
Initially reporting to the Chief Investment Officer, you will lead the monitoring, analysis, and reporting of construction delivery performance across Housing Australia's More Homes portfolio.
This is not a traditional delivery role-it is a strategic oversight position, influencing decisions both internally and through government and ensuring that thousands of homes are delivered efficiently, safely, and on time.
You will establish best-in-class portfolio monitoring frameworks, provide critical insights to senior leadership and the Board, and play a central role in identifying and managing delivery risk across a complex and high-impact program.
- Lead the collection, validation, and management of construction delivery data across a diverse national portfolio
- Provide clear, timely insights on project progress, risks, and delivery performance to senior leadership and governance bodies
- Engage directly with developers, builders, and Community Housing Providers to support transparency and early issue identification
- Build and lead a high-performing team aligned with Housing Australia's values and mission
You are a commercially astute and strategically minded leader with deep experience in construction, development, or housing delivery. You bring:
- Significant experience in project delivery, construction monitoring, or program oversight
- Experience across large-scale residential or government-backed housing development projects
- Exceptional stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence across government and industry
- Strong experience building data reporting frameworks - including systems to gather, process, cleanse, analyse and report - into trusted business as usual processes
- A proven ability to translate complex project data into clear, actionable insights for senior decision-makers
- Tertiary qualifications in construction, project management, engineering, or a related field (postgraduate or QS experience highly regarded)
